The offering of the first fruits
may be the first recorded festival of Scripture.
…And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect.
Notice in the Hebrew the word: מבכרותH1062 of the firstlings
H1062-בּכרה בּכורה– bek-o-raw’
Feminine of H1060; the firstling of man or beast; abstractly primogeniture: – birthright, firstborn (-ling).
Gen 4:4 is the first mention of an assembly of two or more in worship of YHWH for the purpose of giving him an offering of the flock or of the ground. This offering was as we see, of the firstlings, as is commanded to Israel in Exodus 23:14-19 :
Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field. Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord YHWH…The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God…. H1061–בּכּוּר– bik-koor’: From H1069; the first fruits of the crop: – first fruit (-ripe [figuratively), hasty fruit.
The word for first fruit and firstling throughout the law is related closely, and used identically, from the same root
H1069- בּכר– baw-kar’: A primitive root; properly to burst the womb, that is, (causatively) bear or make early fruit (of woman or tree); also (as denominatively from H1061) to give the birthright: – make firstborn, be firstling, bring forth first child (new fruit).
This festival of the first fruits was being observed by Cain and Able just years after the Garden was lost to sin.
Interestingly enough: when the Genesis Calendar as spoken of in the Abib study, is used in literal observation with with the sun, moon and stars beside the harvests of the grain, the third New moon that is here to be proposed and supported falls at the time of the new moon in Gemini, that is when the sun and moon are in conjunction in the star group which has symbolized “the brothers”!
Why would YHWH have caused such an abominable event to be memorialized throughout all generations in the heavens?
Here is a justification and examination of the timing of first fruits also known as the count to Pentecost which harmonizes with the above proposition.
Follow the verses carefully and read the summerization, then you may wish to look again the pile of evidence being offered.
Deu 16:9 Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn.
Deu 16:10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
Exo 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field…when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field…When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
Exo 34:22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.
Lev 23:11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
Lev 23:12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD.
Lev 23:13 And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the LORD for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin.
Lev 23:14 And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Lev 23:15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:
Lev_23:16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.
Lev 23:17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
Lev 23:18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.
Lev 23:19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
Lev 23:20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
Lev 23:21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
Num 15:19 Then it shall be, that, when ye eat of the bread of the land, ye shall offer up an heave offering unto the LORD.
Num 15:20 Ye shall offer up a cake of the first of your dough for an heave offering: as ye do the heave offering of the threshingfloor, so shall ye heave it.

The New moon offering compared to the first fruits offering.
Num 28:11 And in the beginningsH7218 of your monthsH2320 ye shall offerH7126 a burnt offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot;
Num_28:26 Also in the day of the firstfruits, when ye bringH7126 a newH2319 meat offering unto the , after YHWH your weeks be out, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work:

Num 28:12 And three tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one bullock; and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one ram;
Num 28:27 But ye shall offer the burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the LORD; two young bullocks, one ram, seven lambs of the first year;
Num 28:28 And their meat offering of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto one bullock, two tenth deals unto one ram,
Num 28:13 And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD.
Num 28:14 And their drink offerings shall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock, and the third part of an hin unto a ram, and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb: this is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year.
Num 28:15 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering unto the LORD shall be offered, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.
Num 28:29 A several tenth deal unto one lamb, throughout the seven lambs;
Num 28:30 And one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you.
Num 28:31 Ye shall offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings.
The idea of a new moon Pentecost or feast of weeks is proposed in the language of all of the laws on such, as Lev 23:16 and Num 28:26 both could easily read in the Hebrew “a new moon meat offering”. As well the numbering of seven sabbaths or fifty days was to commence:
Lev 23:15 …from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering…
Deu 16:9 …begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn.
Herein is the logic: In order for an inhabitant of Israel to travel to Jerusalem, “from Dan to beer-Sheba” for the Passover feast he must harvest his first fruits sheaf of Abib barley on the morrow after the 8th day of the month Sabbath, so that this 9th day of the month would proceed the selection of the lamb as commanded in Ex 12:3 on the 10th day of the moonth. Thus the barley being in the green state would be in need of drying in order to offer it as the law demands on the day after the 15th day of the moonth which is the sabbath, the the commencement of the first day of the feast of unleavened bread. For the traveler or non-traveler, the sickle was to be put to the corn, and the lamb was to be selected on the 10th day. Thus the morrow after the sabbath on which the count starts is that of the 9th day of the moonth, making the wave sheaf day still the 16th day, and still as tradition has held, a morrow after the sabbath; thus the 16th day, the second day of the feast of unleavened bread is completing the first seventh or week in the count to Pentecost or the 50 days. There after the 16th day of the first moonth 6 more sabbaths are added bringing the day of Pentecost to fully come on the third new moon, also a morrow after the sabbath, but in this case also a sabbatic new moon, Which is by literal observation the lunar month when the sun is in the constellation of the brothers or Gemini, a striking reminder of that first offering.
The First Pentecost after Egypt
Upon this count other evidence and spiritual mater is imputed.
(1) In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
(2) For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.
(3) And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
Because of differences of opinion on the Hebrew meaning of Ex 19:1, I will refer to the APB translation of the Greek LXX as an aid in understanding the statement “the same day” Exo 19:1 APB LXX And in the third month of the exodus of the sons of Israel from the land Egypt, on this day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
In other words it was at the time hereto refereed, that is the third month, otherwise said in the Hebrew the third new moon. The Children of Israel were camped at the mountains of Sinai at that very day, the third new moon which God called on for Moses to ascend Horeb.
Here the Covenant was made with Israel:
Exo 19:5-8 KJV
(5) Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
(6) And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
(7) And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
(8) And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.
Further more if the ascent of Moses was at the sabbath of the 29th day of the second month, and YHWH deliver the command for the people to receive the words of the ten commandments, then the giving of the word of YHWH would fall on the third day in the morning of the first day of the third month. On the other hand, if the command of sanctification came on the first day of the third month, then the words of the ten commandments would be given on the third day of the third month to the sanctified people.
In placing faith in the righteousness of Moses, it would be best assumed that the people would have settled into there new wilderness camp before the sabbath of the 29th day of the second month, and Moses would have ascended the mount on the day of the sabbath as he was pitched before it; yet the sanctified people ascended the mount with Moses by the sanctified in order to receive the words of the ten commandments, this being then on the day of the third new moon.
Don’t forget Moses and the sanctified elders and priests went up into the lower part of the mount while only Moses and Aaron came unto the higher part (Exo 19:24), Moses alone came near to YHWH (Exo 24).
As an interesting note and evidence for this case consider Exo 19:16-19 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of THE TRUMPET exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled… And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. And when the voice of the TRUMPET sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
And the command as found in Numbers 10 concerning the blowing of the silver trumpets :
Num 10:10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.
Sadly enough the whole story of this giving of the law starts with a willing yet fearful people, and ends with:
(1) And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
(2) And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
(3) And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
(4) And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
(7) And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:
(8) They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
(9) And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
(10) Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
(26) Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.
(27) And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
(28) And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
(29) For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
(30) And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
(31) And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
(32) Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin–; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
(33) And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
(34) Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
(35) And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.
The people had quickly, after forty days forgot the impact the presents of YHWH had on them when he came to speak his word to them, the noise of the trumpet which was sounded on account of the new moon assembly and holy convocation was followed by the noise of war, which was none other than idol worship. As the LORD of the whole earth demanded a separation seen in those chilling words spoken by Moses: “…slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.” forty days after Pentecost, the new moon of Gemini was remembered.
The first New Covenant Pentecost
If started on that day before the lamb of God was selected, both as our symbolic first fruit and our Lamb. The beautiful bridge is made between the pre-Christian and post-Christian era, by following the count of the Acts 2 Pentecost. Below is synopsis of this count as taken from the books called The Gospels.
Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him….
On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord…
Mat 26:2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. …
Mat 26:32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
Mat 27:1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
Joh 19:31-42 KJV
(31) The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
(32) Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
(33) But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
(34) But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
(35) And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
(36) For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
(37) And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
(38) And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
(39) And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.
(40) Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
(41) Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.
(42) There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
(1) Now upon the first of the week (literaly- 1/7), very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
(2) And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
(3) And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
(4) And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
(5) And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
(6) He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
(7) Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
(8) And they remembered his words,
(9) And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
(10) It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
(11) And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
(12) Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
(13) And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
(14) And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
(15) And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
(16) But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
(17) And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
(18) And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
(19) And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
(20) And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
(21) But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
(22) Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
(23) And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
(24) And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
(25) Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
(26) Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
(27) And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
(28) And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
(29) But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
(30) And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
(31) And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
(32) And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
(33) And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
(34) Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
(35) And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
(36) And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
(37) But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
(38) And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
(39) Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
(40) And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
(41) And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
(42) And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
(43) And he took it, and did eat before them.
(44) And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
(45) Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
(46) And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
(47) And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
(48) And ye are witnesses of these things.
(49) And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
(50) And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
(51) And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
(52) And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
(53) And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
Act 1:1-5 (remember Luke and Acts are actually one volume)
… of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
(2) Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
(3) To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being SEEN OF THEM FORTY DAYS, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
(4) And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
(5) For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence….
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Notice that in Acts 1:3 it tells us that Christ was seen for forty days. The question, while it is not of major importance is if the forty days here mentioned is counted from the time of Christ’s passion on the 14th day of the first moonth or at the time of the Resurrection on the 16th day of the same month?
In either case Christ was among his brethren for all of unleavened bread, as well as with them on the the second month passover and second feast of unleavened bread held from the 15th day of the second moonth, to the to the 22nd day of the second moonth, held for those who were in a journey or unclean of the dead as taught in Numbers 9.
So in starting with Christ’s passion on the day of passover
on the 14th to 22nd of the month is 9 days
- +23rd to 29th is 7 days,
- 1 or 2 day for the new moon = 17 or 18 days;
- from the 2nd to 8th is 7 days,
- 9th to 15th is 7 days,
- 16th to 22nd is 7 days = 21
- + 17 or 18 is 38 or 39 days,
- On account of the forty days given for the time of Christ’s ascension to his Father’s right hand Christ left his disciples on the the morrow after the ending Sabbath of the second feast of unleavened bread meant for those who were originally unclean or in a journey, the 23rd day of the moonth. Christ was dead and his disciples buried him during the first passover.
Taking this 39 days and adding the first week of numbering from the sheaf on the 9th to the 13th day of the first moonth is 5 days,
bringing us to 44 days total and one more sabbath week from Christ’s ascension day on the 23rd of the second moonth, to the 29th of the second month sabbath brings us to the third new moon feast of Pentecost.
Now Let the Scripture unfold
Tying the sheaf’s offering to the Resurrection of Christ, and the resurrection to our baptism and newness of life, brings us back to the memorial in the heavens, and the Brothers.
(1) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
(2) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
(3) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
(4) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
(5) And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
(6) Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
(7) Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
(8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
(9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
(10) In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
(11) For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
(12) Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
(13) Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
(14) We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
(15) Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
(16) Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
(17) But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
(18) My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
(19) And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
(20) For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
(21) Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
(22) And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
(23) And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
(24) And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 3 is an awsome chapter of the Scriptural testimony, yet few care of it’s direct link to the memorial of the feast of First fruits or Pentecost.
For we Christian Israelites are brothers, born of God as his Children through that fateful resurrection day when at that very morning both the first fruits was offered at the altar and the victorious Son of God arose from death to offer his brothers a new and living way through his perfect life.
(1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
(2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
(3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
(4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
(5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
(6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
(7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
(8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
(9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
(11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
(12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
(13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
(15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
(16) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
(17) And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
(18) For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
(19) For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
(20) For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
(21) Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
(22) For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
(23) And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
(18) For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
(19) And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
(20) (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
(21) And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)
(22) But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
(23) To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
(24) And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
(25) See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
(26) Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
(27) And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
(28) Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
(29) For our God is a consuming fire.
Do you now see the entangled and interspersed message which is from Able to Moses, from Moses to Christ our Lord, and from our Lord to us.
Yet it is not the numbering of this special time of the giving of the covenant and commandments and of the holy spirit as much as it is the resurrected life we now have in Christ which takes the Law of God and writes it on our heart and mind by the holy spirit, so that we may serve God as his first fruits, as living sacrifices holy and acceptable, ready to serve God and our brethren.
Christ’s perfect symbolism is seen in this all encompassing event, just as Christ’s resurrection upon the day of the very first waved sheaf of Abib barley is telling, so is the Pentecost offering of the first fruits of the wheat harvest.
Wheat being a main stay crop of the world especial of Europeans, YHWH shows the power of his foresight as he easily offers the willingness to forgive his people as seen here:
Lev 5:11-13 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering…And the priest shall make an atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned in one of these, and it shall be forgiven him…
In YHWH’s perfect system of Law even poor had right to harvest the remaining grain, thereby always making a way for forgiveness to those who are willing to work out there own salvation in any condition.
Lev 23:22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.
Read for your self, how in context this verse directly follows another mentioning of Firstfruits or Pentecost. Christ’s grace and salvation which came to us as the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world…. I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. (John 6)
As well, this all encompassing teaching of Grace, Salvation, Mercy, and Love, is seen in the power of his resurrection, offered to us in our Baptism as represented by the Wheat harvest. Mat_3:12; Mat_13:25; Mat_13:29; Mat_13:30; Luk_3:17; Joh_12:24; Act_27:38;
1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
Jas 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
