This compilation is dedicated to my personal friend and neighbor who first taught me the concepts of Biblical Reality through Monetary Realism, Bruce G. McCarthy. On May 2 of 2016 Brother Bruce passed on in rest to await Glory with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is the first born of many brethren.
Bruce spent many hours and days with me as a Teacher, Elder and Friend until his rest. Bruce’s work of his last 35 years proceeds him, even in death, on the subject of “money, banking and credit”, where in he would exhaustively speak and write on the differences between Demo-cratic (people’s rule) money and Theo-cratic (God’s rule) Money; as well Bruce had a great passion for his European Israelite brethren, always interweaving the identity of God’s Covenant people in his speaking and teaching and writing, seeing YHWH’s regathering of European Christians in America as fulfillment of Israelite specific prophecies, prophecies that the non Christian counterfeits have since the day’s of John the baptist wished to take by force.
Bruce was a bright and shining light illuminating the path for Israel’s release from economic bondage to usury and the injustice found in fiat ‘money’ and to those who issue it.

What is money?
Compiled by JS Lowther
Money is a word that every one uses yet very few understand or want to learn about in our day and age. In this compilation the Biblical Kingdom understanding of money is desired to be had and offered to you, a basic and non-complicated understanding of Lawful Money.
What is meant by Lawful Money? That is, money according to YHWH God and His Law, not man’s and his legislation. For if we believe God to be our judge, our lawgiver, and our king that will save us (Isaiah 33:22), should we not believe that his judgments, kingdom and laws are offered by Grace for working out our salvation? By God’s law we seek His will to build His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, even so this is in the case of Money .
In all aspects of Christian life God has a specific standard of righteousness and justice that He requires from his Kingdom people and their interactions among them selves and those who are out side of the Church.
The Christian standard as taught by the KING Jesu(s) The Christ:
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
The Laws of Money, as all of God’s Law, hang from YHWH’s greatest command, Love, we love God with all that we are and we love our neighbor just as we would love our self, which by reflection implies how we love our self as a lover of God, in this we understand God’s perfect Love.
Among the ‘churched’ (as opposed to The Church) the idea and name ‘money’ has come to get a bad wrap, particularly from misuse of 1 Timothy 6:10, which says, For the love of money’ is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Yet among Biblical Realists, Christians, the acknowledgment that money has a place in God’s Kingdom must well be balanced in the scales of facts and evidence, thus, consider Solomon’s teaching on the use of Money (literally Silver):
For wisdom is a defence, and money (silver) is a DEFENCE: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. Ecc_7:12
A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money (silver) ANSWEReth all things. Ecc_10:19.
Undoubtedly, the love of money (silver or other wise) is the root of all evil (covetousness), understanding that money in it’s proper order is a “defence” as well as an “answer”, in other wards, money has the ability to purchase things both needed and things wanted, we call this action a MEDIUM OF EXCHANGE. In any society a standard medium of exchange, such as current money, is needed to ‘store’ goods and services for a future date, for a DEFENCE against thirst, hunger, cold and heat, as well as other items needed to DEFEND ones self; also in a time when defense is not of immediate necessity, money may ANSWER all, as it the Ecclesiastes 10 context, feast and merriment refer to things which ones soul lusteth, as opposed to what one needs as a defense.
A direct parallel may be seen in the Law found in Deuteronomy 14:24-26: And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household.
All in all this aspect of Law describes the function of Money as a medium of exchange. YHWH has designated this function to specific materials, which are natural elements of His good earth, not so common to be found every where and not so scarce as to never be found, but elementary materials that have this perfect harmony, which are Silver, Gold and Copper (copper: biblically known as Brass, not to be confused with the modern alloy of zinc and copper).
And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,
All these materials are real money, they can be sensed with all senses, and have an ability to comply to God’s laws of just weights and measures:
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure. Leviticus 19:35
But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
This function of money as a medium used for exchange is seen demonstrated in the most early times of Adamic society, seen in the transaction of Father Abraham with the Hittite Ephron:
… Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current (money) with the merchant. Genesis 23:16
As described in Genesis 23, silver is being used as current money, yet in Hebrew this thing ought not be said, as the word translated “money” through out the English Bible is KsiF, which literally is Silver, thus money and silver are synonyms, not only in Hebrew but in the Greek also, as money, argurion, is derivative of arguros, silver.
(Please see the discussion on Hebrew etymology below in understanding Kingdom money.)
Unlike our current paper and electronic ‘currency’, which can not be weighed or measured in any intrinsic way Abraham and our fore fathers could all weigh and measure their money.
Today’s currency is referred to as fiat ‘money’, fiat being Latin for ‘it is’ or ‘let it be’ and is thus an obvious and admitted invention of man. ‘let it be money’ is not money in and of it’s self, having no real or intrinsic value it is only inflated as as a medium of exchange by those who have the rooted evil spoken of 1 timothy 6:10: covetousness; Bankers working hand in glove with corrupted governments, have been inventing fictitious ‘monies’ since ancient Babylon.
Originally, in most all societies where fiat ‘money’ has circulated, it started out as it did in the USA, as a receipt for a bank to hold Money (Gold, Silver, Copper / Brass) for the legitimate owner of the precious metal. The banker would take the Money on deposit for “safe keeping”, and give the owner a credit receipt which certified that the bearer has Money in the said bank, in the US the “Federal Reserve Bank” was just one of these so called safe holders, thus a credit receipt was then exchanged in place of the Money, but the ‘bill’ was not Money (Gold, Silver, Copper / Brass). The Bankers seeing or depending on the naivety the people who were Excepting credit receipts / ‘bills of credit’ as if it were as good as Money (Gold, Silver, and Copper) started to print the same paper receipts in excess of the Real amount of Money (Gold, Silver, Copper / Brass) that was not in the bank, and the banks/bankers started to spend the bills to acquire defences and lusts with bills, ‘money’ they did not have as well as hide away or spend other men’s Money that was no theirs: Covetousness. Thus the owners /The People who legitimately had Money (Gold, Silver, Copper) on deposit with the bank were stolen from, their intrinsic, hard, earned, real Money was taken; as well those who excepted the good faith or ‘Credit’ of the Bankers in the form of ‘Bills’ were stolen from of their possessions and labours by a simple SIN, a transgression of God’s Law (1John 3:4) which intrinsically demands Godly people to weigh and measure their medium of exchange at home and abroad according to Leviticus 19:35 & Deuteronomy 25:15.
Complicit Theft, all for a piece of Paper with numbers on it.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s. Exodus 20:15-17
The Intrinsic value of Fiat ‘money’: Destruction!
The Credit we all call ‘money’ today, the paper “notes” or ‘electronic bank transfers’ every government excepts for payment of the unavoidable property tax, violates every law of God as it pertains to loving relations in society, as Commandments 8,9, and 10, seen above, can be easily understood by the synopsis given a fore. History bears witness to the destructive nature of the use of Credit as money, rather than the literal use of a Money: Gold, Silver, Copper, as well as the most direct form of payment which is called barter or trade which this eliminates the medium and settles the DEFENCE or ANSWER for the lust sought after in an immediate exchange of estimated equal value.
In short, the Credit system we all know, which uses paper “bills” and electronic bank transfers as ‘money’, is working at this time AS MONEY while not being Money, in essence of what the nature of objects called ‘money’ it is at present a medium of exchange, which we all now use to transfer our good’s and labor into holding, with the faith or credit we hope to be able to spent on anther’s good’s or labor at a future date to satisfy a want or need, yet this ‘money’ has no tangible wealth which anchors its value to this good earth; today’s Credit called ‘money’ can not be sensed by any senses and has nothing more than the credit or trust of the people who use it which keeps it ‘inflated’, having the gun point demand of government taxation as the ultimate inflation device that keeps the Credit active as a ‘national currency’ or medium of exchange. The principalities and powers who issue this Credit and allow for it’s issuance receive the same as the only payment for tax, this functionally keeps trust in the Credit by use of fear, giving fiat ‘money’ it’s only intrinsic value, summarized by the point of it’s sword, or in modern day ‘gun point’. that is the militarized force of that principality and power which will ultimately result in a damage to the non participant: confiscation imprisonment or Death: to be payed to the bearer on demand who will not pay his tax in government issued Credit.
CREDIT, n. [L., See Creed.]
1. Belief; faith; a reliance or resting of the mind on the truth of something said or done.
CREED, n. [This word seems to have been introduced by the use of the Latin credo, I believe, …]
- That which is believed; any system of principles which are believed or professed; as a political creed. What should we have credit in? What is our creed?
What we give credit to as a people may have further reaching bounds than our wallet?
As seen in the above portion of the explanation of today’s currency which in truth is counterfeit, only passing as money, Real money made of God ordained precious metal is lawful Money, substantial and intrinsic, this is the money of the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. Lawful Money to be used as mediums of exchange consist of the provided “gold, and silver, and brass (copper)” of Exodus 25:3.
In the time of Abraham a determined wieght of silver or shekel of kesif was “current money with the merchant”, that is the ‘currency’ used as a medium of exchange.
As said above, Money and Silver in our English Bible are translated from one and the same word in Hebrew כּסף -KSiF. As in all ancient European societies Silver was the monetized currency excepted for various payments, with Gold and Copper being used along side Silver for greater (gold) and lesser (copper) value, truly other precious metals have been used chrono-transiently; barter and trade have held, of course an eminent position among common folk in regular commerce.
In dealing strictly with biblical currency: Metals are biblically weighed as Shekels (ShQuL), a Shekel is simply a determined weight current at a given instance or time. According to Kingdom Law “The Sanctuary’ or ‘The Holy’ are to assay the shekel or weight that is current among the nation:
Leviticus 27:25 :
And all thy estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel. -KJV Hebrew
And every valuation shall be by holy weights: the didrachm shall be twenty oboli.- Brenton LXX
In the time of the translation of the LXX unto Josephus the historian who lived at the time of Christ the Shekel was “a piece among the Hebrews, and is equal to four Athenian drachmae (Josephus Antiq. 3.8:2). According to Webster’s 1828 the Obolus is “A small silver coin of Athens, the sixth part of a drachma, about two cents in value, or a penny farthing sterling.” If we may trust in antiquity as out guide we could use this formula above to simply set the value of the Shekel of the sanctuary, nevertheless God’s Kingdom is not set upon the foundations of failed governments and standards, it is eternal and it’s Law’s are everlasting, that is instrinsic to the earth God’s Kingdom is be established in, it is rather that the LXX given measurements were the equivalent of the Shekel and Gerah at the time of translation, it is good to know that most named coins are relative to the time and nation.
In context however, a holy or sanctified body is set by YHWH to ordain such a holy weight, as to demand it’s purity and it’s exact weight, thus both translations of the Hebrew and Greek work in perfect harmony as to give an establishment of a weight that is holy.
A shekel is set according to the GRaH (gerah), what a gerah is what must be determined by the Ministers of such matters.
As in all Kingdom Law our spiritual righteousness is linked to natural intrinsic elements, standards that are able to be re-attained forever. Many understandings and ideas have come about in trying to know the origin of the Gerah, here are a few:
The word Gerah some have said is another word, though unused in the bible, for kernel or grain, this is said as to compare Israel’s standards to most other nations who have used wheat or barley at harvest at some determined amount as to compare with a weight and thus set the weight in value of the nations currency in money; in part the kernel/grain theory could be supported by the word GaRGaR (H1620) which is used in Isaiah 17 as an olive berry, thus it is berry of grain, however making a very small weight/shekel. On another hand, in comparison to an antonym GRaH (H1621) which is the word used for ‘cud’, that is the food chewed by a ruminant animal seen in Lev 11 and Deut 14, and is the only other way the word גרה / GRaH is used in the bible.
As to consider the context of Lev 27 as well as Ex 30, which both specify the Shekel’s weight to be 20 gerahs, a valid intrinsically organic option of what a GRah is may be a compairative evaluation of the weight of the cud found in the neck/mouth of 20 sacrificial animals (which may or may not have been eating wheat and/ or barley), thus, the weight of the Cud x20 would eQuaL the ShQuL on a yearly or 50 Year (jubilee) basis. In this way the sanctuary would be linked to the wealth of the land and herdsman, the more poor or good quality of the sacrificial animals the smaller or greater the shekel would be, giving the ‘inflationary device’ to God’s own blessings and curses, and thus the ministers in charge of the assaying, would only be interpreting the wellness of the nation by the quality of the animals ruminant. In effect the estimation of wheat or barley as also mentioned would be able to do the same by evaluation of the quality of the field crops.
Thus the value of the Shekel weight of Silver Gold or Copper in a Kingdom Society is not a hard fast number, it is a comparative estimation done by devoted kingdom Government made up of ministers of God put in place for the National Churches good (Rom 13).
For a semi in-depth understanding of Silver Money the entomology of Biblical Hebrew money is needed:
It’s root is found in
A primitive root; to estimate: – make count. Uses of this word are found in the following verses as desire:
Gen_31:30; Job_14:15; Psa_17:12; Psa_84:2; Zep_2:1;
Job 14:15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
On the other side of of the etymology the word saph is seen:
From H5605, in its original sense of containing; a vestibule (as a limit); also a dish (for holding blood or wine): – bason, bowl, cup, door (post), gate, post, threshold.
Exodus 12:22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason…
The word Saph with the addition of the Hebrew prefix כ – K which holds the meaning of: As, Like, According to-This renders the word K+Saph and means ‘like a container’ or ‘as a container’.
As a medium of exchange or a money, Silver serves as a container for ones labor, produce and valuable stuff that is in need of storage as to serve as a “defence”(Ecc_7:12) against hunger, weather, and attack or to “answer” as a container for a time of making marry in obtaining what so ever ones soul lusteth after( Ecc_10:19, Deu_14:24-26), these are the sole purposes of Money and from Abraham to 1964 silver was the chief in use as currency.
The shekels mentioned in the bible are simply unites of measure:
From H8254; probably a weight; used as a commercial standard: – shekel.
This word is used as a verb twice in the Hebrew Scriptures able to be seen in the English Bible as receive 2Sa_18:12; and in Isa_33:18 when it was translated “the receiver”, yet this only tells that a Shekel is received or ‘shekel-ed.
Further into the etymology a root may be found in the holistic understand of this word being used , thus the word שׂק śaq minus the suffix ל – L :
H8242 שׂק śaq /sak: From H8264; properly a mesh (as allowing a liquid to run through), that is, coarse loose cloth or sacking (used in mourning and for bagging); hence a bag (for grain, etc.): – sack (-cloth, -clothes). This may refer to the metal in it’s liquid state as relative words seen in H4541 מסּכה massêkâh …a pouring over, that is, fusion of metal (especially a cast image)…, and H5262נסך נסך nêsek a libation; also a cast idol: – …molten image.
Both words rooting in H5526 שׂכך סכך sâkak śâkak :A primitive root; properly to entwine as a screen; by implication to fence in, cover over, (figuratively) protect… ,
Interestingly enough these words are what is used for molten work of metal.
More probably the measurement of weight by use of displacement of liquid to ascertain volume may be the root or a harmonized understanding of both, as to place a piece of money into a liquid like water and measure the rise of the liquid before and after the moneies presence.
Yet in the general use see below:
From H8254; weight (numerically estimated); hence, weighing (the act): – (full) weight.
Feminine of H4948 or H4947; a weight, that is, a plummet (with line attached): – plummet.
It is important to under stand the shekel of scripture as to understand it’s meaning as a unit of measure, the ‘teeth’ of God’s Law as it pertains to lawful Money is found as seen:
Lev 19:35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight (H4948 M ShQuL), or in measure.
Lev_19:36 Just balances, just weights (, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Lev 19:37 Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.
Compare to the LXX to help in understanding the Hebrew measurements:
Lev 19:35 Ye shall not act unrighteously in judgment, in measures and weights and scales.
Lev 19:36 There shall be among you just balances and just weights and just liquid measure.
In the Hebrew of this verse the word weight is the word משׁקל
From H8254; weight (numerically estimated); hence, weighing (the act): – (full) weight.
which specifically is in reference to the shekel as a weight of money (Silver, Gold and Copper)
In this way a society who does not have a just / justified or right / righteous unit of measure can in no way attain unto the righteousness offered by this law. By use of non-weighable and non measurable mediums of exchange a free people under the LORD open them selves up for slavery under another law and lordship other than YHWH God.
Kingdom Money is of necessity Hard, tangible, intrinsic Money, as all dealings of one with neighbor the Christian is to be true and sincere Christian Government should be the model of such dealings: for He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God (2 Samuel 23:3).
Undoubtedly the question will arise: What shall we do about this now?
Our answer is first Local, and Congregational, we must first of all, as this is an attempt to do, inform others of the current problem as to open the eyes to the problem.
Next, we of the Church can start collecting silver in anticipation of it’s use. No matter why you obtain lawful money, you are acquiring substance that will keep it’s value better than the paper and electronic transfers which may loose it’s value or be deleted at any given time, this will first of all protect your children’s inheritance. Next, we can deal with other church members in lawful money as to get it circulating. Our brothers may be producing substance of their own by the sweat of their brow such as vegetables, grains, meats and other produce, as well as talents they posses we may need, such as mechanics and builders. I do not recommend purchasing items from others for items they acquired with paper or electric, as it is unreasonable in the church.
This is the best I personally can offer. I pray YHWH sends us men, who may band together an unify the Church of Christ under His Lawful banner!
