Soon we will be celebrating the biblical days of Purim, this full moon Sabbath. While many will be keeping the Easter season, we are celebrating the Esther season .
In many ways the modern celebrations of Easter and Esther are very similar as Purim is a time of gifts and goodies given as ‘portions’ to each other, While true Easter the Paschal feast is the Passover of Exodus 12 and 1Corinthians.
The kindred of European Christians could learn a lot from the biblical example of Esther and Mordecai in 2021. We could also learn a lot by remembering the war against Christ and his people will be from generation to generation, and the struggle with the dragon is far from over (Rev 12).
As one of most commemorative statements in the book of Esther is this:
Est 4:13 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all Judah.
Est 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to Judah from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
Est 4:15 Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,
Est 4:16 Go, gather together all of Judah that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
Just imagine if modern European Christendom had Elders like Mordecai and heroin daughters like Esther, who put all their trust and hope in the God of Israel for “enlargement and deliverance”. Esther put the good of her ethnic people, her kindred above all her own pleasures and desires as a queen, she even put her part to play above her own safety and fear of death. – What a Christian sentiment bygone.
Regardless of what you are celebrating this Full Moon or sunday, I hope you will remember the this one sentiment of the story of Esther that preserved the remnant of the House of Judah (Jews) that brought about the coming of our LORD Jesus Christ:
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to European Christians from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed:
and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
