pt.2 The Meat of Justification (A Table of Grace)

 pt.2 The Meat of Justification

In this message we will bring forth the nourishment and enjoyable food of the Christian life, the Meat of Justification, and place it upon the table of Grace for our consumption by Faith. We will start by showing the nature of Justification and its meaning, we will then consider Israel’s dilemma at being justified in God’s sight considering his enemy state as a rebel race of the sons of the rebel people of Adam’s fall. But we will also show Christ the champion’s love in saving the elect children of wrath from the fierceness of the vengeance of the Father’s battle as well, as he whispers to us the ‘the Word of Reconciliation- “Your saved”.

Pt.2 The table of Grace:

The Meat of Justification

Heb_5:11  (Christ) Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
Heb 5:12  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Heb 5:13  For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

Heb 5:14  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Heb 6:1  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Heb 6:2  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Heb 6:3  And this will we do, if God permit.

Heb 6:4  For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

Heb 6:5  And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

Heb 6:6  If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Job_34:3  For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.

Psa_119:103  How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Now the word we are feasting on right now is Justification, and it is the main course I stated for the Christian.

Justification, justified, and to be declared righteous and to actually therefore have righteousness.

So let me start with the simplicity of the quality of this word as it is used in scripture.

You know how ingredients in food are important right?
Organic, natural, fresh…

Well in that way we are going to look at the dish of Justification and see what we are looking for and what makes justification what it is.

The word Justification is related to the word justice, and both are from the word Just as it’s root,
Justification is the proclaiming of justice and justice is the proclaiming of what is just.

Now in the English bible,  The word Just is the same as Right
the word Justice is the same as righteousness
the word just-ness is the same as right-ness
Justified is the same as to be declared righteous

So what is the definition of ‘Just’?

biblically speaking we have the highest form of being just and right resident in God:

Moses says:

Deu_32:3-4  …ascribe ye greatness unto our God is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

JUST, a. [L. justus. The primary sense is probably straight or close, from the sense of setting, erecting, or extending.]

  1. Regular; orderly; due; suitable.

  2. Exactly proportioned; proper.

  3. Full; complete to the common standard.

  4. Full; true; a sense allied to the preceding, or the same.

  5. In a moral sense, upright; honest; having principles of rectitude; or conforming exactly to the laws, and to principles of rectitude in social conduct; equitable in the distribution of justice; as a just judge.

    So in order to understand justification one must first understand what is “Just”, and definitionally, what is Just is that which is set up perfectly, orderly, suitable, . Full; complete to the common standard, true.
    To be Just is to answer to principles of uprightness, conforming exactly to the law, and to principles of uprightness in social conduct; that which is equitable in the distribution of justice- justice being the standard of these things in law- Justice.

    Notice in simple understand that Justification is the applied state of being Just I hope you can see what we are saying any time we saying in saying a man or a woman is Justified.

    In a legal sense, consider that yes one can be a Just person in life, before themselves and other ‘walking in uprightness’- that is doing nothing to violate the social conduct, not stealing, killing, or destroying another’s stuff or state.
    But to say one is “Justified” immediately implies and necessitated a judge, and a Just judge to make that just judgment.

    In other word’s a comparison must be made between true good and true bad, true right and true wrong to see the difference, to see that one is not Just we must see what Just and Justice is. In other words the phrase Justified means another declares ones just-ness, and thus a Judge a just judge is needed to make that decision.

Justification is a legal ruling that shouts out from the Justice throne of the Just God, that says a soul is not guilty unto death, and in this case eternal death.

For the purposes of this lesson I want to use a warfare tribunal as an example to show the type of justification that is described in scripture of when justice is ruled upon the acts of rebels who rebelled against the laws and justice of a Lord.

In olden times, and eve not when a people rebelled against their sovereign, often a trial was held for those who had been conquered and vanquished, and often time even the women and Children were killed in the battle and those left alive or half alive were all half alive because they were hanging in the balances of the judgment of the LORD and his choice to grant life or to give death.

In such a case those left alive were enemies of the Lord but because of Grace they will not experience his full wrath but will live by his Grace.

Perhaps you will remember tha David did this to Mephibosheth?

2Sa_9:13  So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet.

Or as Evil-Merodach did to Jehoiachin king of judah? Though they were a defeated part of an enemy people, the king declared kindness, showed mercy raised them up to the table of Grace.   2Ki_25:27

and to be at the table means you have had to been justified by the Lord.

It is not the eating of this word today or ever which will save you, that is a better head knowledge of this subject of Grace, Faith and Justification will not save anyone.

No rather as we have established prior, salvation is the Gift of God, it is in fact the life we live unto eternal life at the table we are seated at that shows a life has been saved.

So let me state that plainly: Grace is a free gift, but Grace is not a substance: you can not feel it, taste it…. Grace is the portion of the reward however in a spiritual way by the use of Faith, Faith is injected or breast fed to us as it were from the breast of God nursing us back to life, and we sit at the table of Grace eating the meal of Grace and we eat it by Faith, Faith being the utensil or mechanism that get the food into our mouth.

So Grace is a state of life, a living life that has access to the table of Grace by Faith because without that life brought to the table by God we have no access to the food we need to live spiritually or physically.

The closest thing we can picture as the object of Grace which we have faith in and are declared righteous by can be seen in this picture:

1Pe_1:19-20  … the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1Pe 1:20  Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you…

And so by grace Christ was manifest as by Grace Christ promised his blood.

And by Grace He picked you, by grace God gives you faith to eat, by faith you drink the sincere milk, by faith you eventually chew, by faith you divide or cut the word of truth and eat stronger meat, and regardless of if you been eating the milk of the word that is from the word of God, which is called the word of righteousness or just-ness, the meal as it were centers around Jesus the word made flesh, and Jesus the slain lamb.

This is the main course and meal of the table of Grace, if there were any one object that has ever existed before time was and in history on this planet in a material and physical way it is the Blood of Christ, the Lamb and the blood of the lamb.

While we see that this lamb and this blood is very special, in that it is said to have been affective since “before the foundation of the world,” it is this object which we could solidly say is in fact God’s Grace: in eternity past the word of life, the promise of the Blood and in time the actual bleeding body of Jesus Christ, that rose from the grave in victory over death, meaning also over sin, that is when Jesus raised up his crucified broken body after 3 days, that completed and fulfilled promise which he made before the Foundations of the world Justified us.

How can I say that?

Rom_4:25  Jesus our Lord …Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Well, let me go back to the condition we are in before we found out about the declaired Judgment of the Lord against us as children to an enemy Kingdom, dying babies.
Let me give you a graphic illustration:

Go to

Hos_13:16  Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

this is enemy language

But listen to God

Hos 14:1  O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

Hos 14:2  Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

and listen to the word of God in vrs 4:

Hos 14:4  I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

And again, Look at that enemy state in:

Eph_2:1  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Eph 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Eph 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Eph 2:5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Eph 2:6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Eph 2:12  That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Eph 2:13  But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Eph 2:14  For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Eph 2:15  Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

So here is the cause for us to need God’s grace:

  • dead in sins

——-

  • without Christ,
  • being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel,
  • and strangers from the covenants of promise,
  • having no hope,
  • without God

——–

  • far off
  • no peace with God
  • wall of partition between us
  • enemy of God – enmity, by the law of commandments contained in ordinances

What we have here is not a man or woman simply born as a baby and abandoned do we? No what we have is the picture being painted for us of enmity- that is an enemy state which we have between us and God.

Not a neutral state without God but a dead state wounded by God.

Psa_68:21  But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.

Col_1:21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works…

a crash course on original sin:

Gen_1:26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion … upon the earth.

Gen 1:27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Gen 2:16  And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

Gen 2:17  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Gen 3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Gen 3:7  And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Gen 3:11  And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

Gen 3:12  And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

Gen 3:13  And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

The seeds of sin is judged

Gen 3:14  And the LORD God said unto the serpent… Gen 3:15  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Gen 3:16  Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Gen 3:17  And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

Gen 3:18  Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

Gen 3:19  In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Gen 3:22  And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Gen 3:23  Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

Gen 3:24  So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Here is why Psa 51:5 says  Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” , here is how I can say we are born enemies to God, naturally disposed to wicked works at war with God, and not worthy of life or everlasting life.

So here is the point between Jesus Justifying resurrection and man’s injustice and how an advocate was found to stand in the gap for the unjust that some would be saved:

Rom 5:6  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Rom 5:7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

Rom 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Rom 5:9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Rom 5:10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Rom 5:11  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement (or a restoration.)

Rom_5:12  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

To know how we are in an enemy state from birth. And why faith must come by Grace to man, and that faith delivers grace into the heart of man, and that with out a free gift, a reward paid for by Christ man has no access to the fruit of the tree of life that sets upon the table of Grace in heavenly places with Christ.

And so while dose of Grace through Faith which contains a nutrient pack a multi vitamin, a mineral dose is needed having a enough sanctification in it for you to see a need for salvation is given, that is to see your own depravity requiers the help of the CPR of God’s holy spirit lungs filled with life, water poured into you

Tit_3:4  But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Tit 3:5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Tit 3:6  Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Tit 3:7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

this is

Rom_5:15  But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

Rom 5:16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

And so while Grace and Faith is the healing and quickening part of justification, and we can see all the ingredients of how we see it with a dose of holiness given by God in a nutrient pack delivered to us as we rise with Christ from the dead, it is the chewable parts of Justification we are discussing in ask why do we need grace?

Condescension, incarnation, holy conception.

Why can’t we have faith apart from God’s free gift?

Because you were dead in sin and trespass, you were an enemy with God without hope, parted from him, and God who is rich in mercy the powerful victor made peace, and he did so by the champion, the Son of Man the Lord able to win the battle.

See, if God’s wrath was released in the battle after you were fallen in Adam and Israel, if God’s wrath were to bur against us and continue to wound our head, we would be dead men, as many will be.

But because of a victor because of a champion who did battle in sin ful flesh, God rather than vanquishing and slaughtering all God made peace, because that champion of Israel and of Adam’s Son Jesus Christ the Son of David the son of Man the seed of the woman stood up and fought the battle.

He crushed the head of the serpent in Gen 3:15. Jesus Christ righteousness as a man…

Rom 8:3-4  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Here is why the denial Jesus Christ as God in the flesh is so perposterious and so condemning, because the only option that is left for one who still claims victory in Jesus is that Jesus Christ as a man with all the iniquity give to the sons of men, with all the filthiness of men born to women, was able to make peace with God as a man.

Now let me ask you, do you think it is right to say a man has power to stand up as a champion and have the power in his life to make peace with God? Not only on his own behalf but to offer of that peace, where he is given that victory meal, that reward to others?

A man? a Son of man?

No, let me give you the logical and God inspired answer to this question which we have in the meal focusing upon Justification:

2Co_5:18  … all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

2Co 5:19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

and let me put it another way yet again:

Rom 3:23  all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 3:24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom 3:25  Whom God hath set forth for pity sake through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Rom 3:26  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

If there is one thing you need to remember it is this:

 all things are of God and God was in Christ

all have sinned… but Christ is righteous and God is the just and justifier of the one who believes in Jesus.

This is the meat of the Gospel; this is the message of Justification by Faith this is the fruit of the tree of life from the bread of the word that is first given to us as we are converted from death to life and seated with him in heavenly places.

And all this substance and ingredients are what makes up the main dish of the Christian table called Justification.

About JS Lowther

Foremost I know that I am a chief sinner saved by Grace. I am a servant of YHWH Almighty the one true God Who is Father, Son and Spirit. I believe in God's only begotten and perfect Son Jesu(s) Christ whose redemption power of my soul I have Faith in and testify of. Having been redeemed by the blood of Christ, I wish to no longer spend my time in the lusts of the flesh and of this world, but to promote the Gospel of the Kingdom by means of the knowledge of the New Covenant, a reNewal of the Covenant God made with his people Israel in the blood of Christ (Jer 31:31 and Heb 8:8) whereby He writes His Law upon the Heart and Mind beside the forgiveness of sin and transgressions. I believe Christ Jesus is the incarnate Son of God as the WORD made flesh, and the son of man born of the virgin Mary conceived of the Holy Spirit: I believe Christ Jesus Lived a perfect life for us as a living sacrifice as well as a pattern of the Sanctified newness of life a believer has in Him, I believe Christ Jesus died a cursed death on the Cross for His people of Covenant who are sinners, and I believe in Christ Jesus who Resurrected with power from Death from the grave to Justify the offenders. This is the same Jesus who is indeed the Son of David and king of Israel, who is both LORD and Christ over all the kings and dominions of the earth! In the fullness of time YHWH will regather his people under the Head of the Church, Jesu(s) Christ to affect his will according to the Lord's prayer, Psalm 2, 8 and 110 as well as Genesis 1:26. The focus of my administration of the Gospel is like unto my Lord's who said "I have come not but for the lost sheep of the house of Israel.."(Mathew 15:24), and so I have come to my European kinsman according to the flesh. It is my mission to show the Israel of God the Salvation which is taught by Scripture Alone and offered in all ages by Grace Alone through Faith Alone in the work of Christ Alone to the Glory of GOD Alone. As a modern day Puritan separatist it is my goal to purify the church of Christ with Faith heretofore stated. I am studying to show my self approved, if you have any questions just ask!
