Ephesianism
(The Beloved Family of Saints)
A study of Ephesians Ch. 5:21-33
The Bible is a book regarding Adam’s Family which he made with his beloved wife Eve, the people of this book have issued from this union of the male body of Adam, the man and patriarch which he had generated with the female body of Eve the mother of Life (Jn_1:1-14) as her name implies; this is the book of the Generations of Adam quiet literally, this is the concept of marriage and family structure.
We have our total depravity to lay at the feet of our father and mother and that which they have imparted to our fleshly body that they have generated by a curse. But to the contrary, the Elect who are the redeemed of this family in heaven and earth have their redemption to lay at the feet of their Head, that is the sweet-smelling savor of Christ’s offering given for his Beloved in the suffering of His literal Body upon the tree for them in the super nature of imputation.
In the back drop of this next section of Ephesians the familial nature of the bible as a whole comes into focus all the more, with every mention of the word Agope = love, being loved, the beloved and so forth, has had it’s foundation found in Eph_1:4-6 , now see the culminating of its use as it is applied to the family as to the church in this final delivery in Chapter 5-6.
But let us reflect upon these uses of agope as it is drawn up from this point:
Eph_1:4-6 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (Ephesians 1:3-6)
Eph_1:15 we see this love unto all saints accompanied by faith in Jesus. so a common love between the faithful in Christ.
Eph_2:4 It is to this Beloved status lain down in 1:4-6 that the Saints must share that Paul builds upon in saying:
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Eph_3:17-19 … I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; (that is )That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. (Ephesians 3:14-19)
Eph_4:2 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:1-3)
Eph_4:15-16 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:15-16)
And so Now we are at our present place in reading, where in we shall see build upon the foundation of Eph_1:4-5 as the primary focus of the beloved, that it Jesus Christ the beloved son whom we are reckoned as being IN since the foundation of the world in order to proclaim up holy and without blame ‘before him’ in Love, that is those he loves, the ones the Father has given the Son are his focus as if the Father showed us to Christ as the prize he died for to call us beloved or rather having called us beloved and all of this tells us how Christ died for us, how Christ loved us, and how Christ chose to give himself for those he loves as his own body. Therefore we had seen the expressed family language in Eph_4:15-16 when it was expressly said of Christ that He is the Head of the body that is edifying of itself in love. and then in the next family mention in
Eph_5:1-2 Be ye therefore followers of God, as beloved children; Anst to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Eph_5:1-2 Be ye therefore followers of God, as beloved children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. (Ephesians 5:1-2)
in the reckoning ourselves as children of this body whose head is Jesus Christ the beloved son, and so it is that a tri-fold exhortation of Family Love is lifted up in this text:
1. follow as a beloved child , 2. walk in that love, 3. as Christ also hath loved.
Listen regardless of how you perceive the subject of Predestination, and all of the prejudices that a build for or against it, its proclamation to it being the time of the giving of God’s Sovereign grace is absolute, and if that fact of Ephesianism causes you to throw your should hands up in the air and say “well it’s all determined I’m not going to care about doing the also pre-ordained good works of God’s Eternal Word” then quite frankly you are not following as a beloved child , walking in the Love of God, according to the pattern of Christ’s Love. and if you cannot balance the revelation of predestination with you call to obedience as a beloved child there is a grim possibility you are not beloved…because the nature of a beloved child is to follow and to walk in love as Christ, which is even unto self denial of lusts of desire of walking in your own way and even unto death for the saints if needs be.
And so we finished up in reading in our last study with:
Eph_5:21 submitting yourselves to one another in the fear of God.
being said to the beloved Children as members of one family in heaven and earth, who are opposed to children of disobedience but rather are called children of light, those who have the beloved nature and those who have the blameless nature of saints, that is (holy ones- hagiois) and do not have the nature of por-nos (fornicators), a-kath-ar-tos (unclean ones) or pleon-ek-tes (coveters)
and thus they will inherit the kingdom of God and of Christ, these Children of this kingdom will love one and other they will submit themselves to one another in the fear of God.
and then we see the next calling beyond how the Children of the kingdom love one another, men with men; women with women and they all as members of the other in the body of Christ and with that sovereign head, the
Eph_5:22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord….
