This Year if you are an ardent adherent to the Gregorian calendar, AKA The Judeo-papistic feast calendar, you have what has been called a ‘perfect Easter’, and thus a ‘perfect Pentecost’.
What does this mean?
There are 2 cycles at play in the Jewish or Hillel II calendar:
- The 7 day week- from sunday /1st day to saturday / 7th day counting scheme
&
- The MEAN lunar calendar or 18 year lunar cycle, (Hillel II); it is MEAN because it is only an attempt to regulate the festivals of mainstream Judaism with the cycle of the moon in a close but non-precise way as to establish a long term calendar for religious use.
These 2 cycles operate on 2 different principles:
- The week tied to the Saturday sabbath as a mere counting scheme
&
- The feasts tied to a mean lunar regularity.
This means the Jewish Passover (14th of the month) cannot fall on a Friday every year, and thus the Sabbath of the feast (15th of the month) cannot fall on a Saturday every year, and resurrection day (16th of the month) cannot fall on a ‘Easter Sunday’ every year.
And so, this is how things happened this year, and some Romanists Papists types in history have put special emphasis on these aligning years because this is the ‘abnormal’ and not the ‘normal’ for both Jews and Papists alike.
Because of this alignment another rare occurrence happened, which is happening now (sunday June 5 2022) and that is Jews are celebrating Shavuot and Papist lead Christians are celebrating Pentecost Sunday.
But again, this is not the norm, but the abnormal.
Shavuot and Pentecost which is to be the Feast of Weeks, that is seven times seven weeks which leads to a celebration of the first fruits of the wheat harvest (Ex 16, 23, Lev 23, Deut 16) is by multiple witnesses of antiquity tied to the Lunar calendar and NOT to the saturday 7th day counting scheme- which is rather a Roman Catholic invention.
This means the day of Pentecost or Shavuot for Jews always occurs 50 days from the 16th day of the Lunar month which they follow, and therefore only happens to fall on Sunday but rarely- as it does on this ‘perfect’ year.
Papist have adapted the Pentecost count to correspond to ‘sunday worship’ in acknowledgement of ‘saturday’ as ‘the jewish sabbath’: this morphosis, is acknowledged and documented, thus the saturday occurring during the feast of unleavened bread (after Jewish Passover) is designated as the day to count to the 50th day or Pentecost, and this assures to land on a sunday every year, though not the same sunday every year, or the same month of the Gregorian calendar.
By doing this, less ‘hiccups’ are seen between the 2 systems of calendation, and the illusion of a ‘biblical’ correspondence is achieved- though it is un-sound historically and abhorred by nature.
Josephus, tells us that the seven weeks count and 50 days (Pentecost) corresponded to the wave sheaf which is the same as the Day of Christ’s Resurrection, the 16th day of the first lunar month, the day after the sabbath observed by the apostles when Christ was dead in the garden tomb, and 2 days after the Passover whereon Christ our Blessed Lord was crucified, here is Josephus witness:
Antiquities, Book 3, Ch. 10, v.5-6:
“The feast of unleavened bread succeeds that of the Passover, and falls on the fifteenth day of the month, and continues seven days, wherein they feed on unleavened bread; on every one of which days two bulls are killed, and one ram, and seven lambs. Now these lambs are entirely burnt, besides the kid of the goats which is added to all the rest, for sins; for it is intended as a feast for the priest on every one of those days. But on the second day of unleavened bread, which is the sixteenth day of the month, they first partake of the fruits of the earth, for before that day they do not touch them.”
Until the pseudo-catholic institution pioneered by Anatolius of Laodicea & Alexandria (230AD ?- 283 AD?) was employed to crush the observance of the moon (Lunar calendar) for Christian feast keeping, the use of sunday was a day of meeting under the Roman Julian calendar system and that only for some sects of Christians in the second century; sunday as a day only eventually became the ‘Christian sabbath’ due to the very topic discussed above, the ‘Easter or Paschal mystery’, this aimed to encapsulate the Passion every week, as a weekly Passover festival, which as well, eventually became the ‘sacrifice of the Mass’.
Such a calendar system has no basis in scripture or nature, these claims can easily be defended, and the system defeated.
In ending I will say, while in Christian history the Julian calendar’s weeks quickly sparked as sunday adoration and caught among the Romanized philosophic sects of true Christians, such as Justin Martyr, and burnt fervently in Victor Bishop of Rome when united with his proto-germ of papal primacy and this lead to the excommunicating and condemning the true Christian observers of the lawful gospel feasts by the moon according to nature and scripture, this does not mean we are stuck this way.
Rather, God has left us with great witnesses to light our path and direct our way. YHWH God has left us with His Word: as it is seen in nature and interpreted by Scripture, not to mention clear natural occurrences that speak as to very meaning of those things involved in this calendar discussion.
God has also left us with the historical evidence and fact to be acknowledged in the building of our case of opinion and guidance for the future, if it is that we are led to believe the future generations should stand upon stronger and more concreate a foundation than those crumbling footings of the past which lack either Revealed means of the Word of God.
