Brotherhood & Brotherly Love

pt. 4 Despise not in thy heart thy Brethren in not taking a wife of Them

Pro_17:17  A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

&

Lev_19:19  Ye shall keep my statutes.

Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind:

thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed:

neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.

Brenton LXX

Hos_5:3  I know Ephraim, and Israel is not far from me: for now Ephraim has gone grievously a-whoring, Israel is defiled.
Hos_5:4  They have not framed their counsels to return to their God, for the spirit of fornication is in them, and they have not known the Lord.
Hos 5:5  And the pride of Israel shall be brought low before his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall fall in their iniquities; and Judas also shall fall with them.
Hos 5:6  They shall go with sheep and calves diligently to seek the Lord; but they shall not find him, for he has withdrawn himself from them.
Hos 5:7  For they have forsaken the Lord; for strange children have been born to them: now shall the cankerworm devour them and their heritages.

We live in a time where like our forefathers of the northern tribes of Israel: Fornication and whoredom abound, and the men of the West as we are called have been defiled.
Notice why it happens, and what happens…

Hos 5:10  The princes of Juda became as they that removed the bounds: I will pour out upon them my fury as water.

The removing of the bounds of heritage is at this very time, by the promotions of miscegenation, is at this very time the battle ax of the adversary, the muscle of the enemy against the nations formerly called Christendom.

Multi-culturalism via miscegenation is the vehicle which the adversary is using to move its destructive plans.

And Yet brothers are born for adversity, these are times of adversity for the People of Christ of the European race. And if our brotherhood can be broken, and we abandon our familial relationship in its concentric order, we will soon fall as we see here in the proclamation of Hoseh.

We finished reading last week

Deu_23:1  He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
Deu 23:2  A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

And I expounded the meaning of the word base-tard and mam-zur
The word translated bastard comes from 2 Hebrew words: mem= spotted or blemished and Zur = Strange.

The LXX states it as ‘one born of a prophane woman or a harlot’: that is, one born of fornication by adultery or better said adulteration, as Strong’s states it:
H4464מַמְזֵר mamzêr From an unused root meaning. “to alienate; a mongrel…”

Now because of our studies, our question is in the case of brothers born for adversity?

how is it that the bearing of strange children  the brotherhood?

How will it hinder all those economic laws of concentric kinship in a nation and race as a family?

How is it that mamzerism or race mixing, miscegenation, bastardizing and adulterating of a people a congregation, even in its ecclesiastical sense, will break the bonds we have prior seen established in Lev 25, Deut 24 & 15 and the like?
And the answer simply is, because it makes brothers strange and diverse from one another.

I will be in todays study, show the focus and the contrast from examples of Scripture.

Very much so, in the Hebrew mind and the Lawful mind a form of brotherly love, or love towards brethren was seen in the choice of a wife from among one’s own people.

(See Gen_27:46-29 in more detail as we resuscitated from scripture this morning in worship)

I’m going to read you a section from the dueterocanonical book of Tobit, regardless of your acceptance of it as scripture, as it is nevertheless shows a historical way of thought among the Hebrew People who were at this time in captivity:

Tob_4:12  Beware of all whoredom, my son, and chiefly take a wife of the seed of thy fathers, and take not a strange woman to wife, which is not of thy father’s tribe: for we are the children of the prophets, Noe, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: remember, my son, that our fathers from the beginning, even that they all married wives of their own kindred, and were blessed in their children, and their seed shall inherit the land.
Tob_4:13  Now therefore, my son, love thy brethren, and despise not in thy heart thy brethren, the sons and daughters of thy people, in not taking a wife of them: for in pride is destruction and much trouble, and in lewdness is decay and great want: for lewdness is the mother of famine.

Let me point out 6 points from Tobias to his son Tobit:
1. the warning is of ‘whoredom’ or a ‘porneias’ which is generally translated ‘fornication’.  As is stated in Deut 23:2 Greek LXX in the female form
2. this chief whoredom is in ‘ not taking a wife of the seed of thy fathers, and take not a strange woman to wife, which is not of thy father’s tribe’ or kindred
3. He takes this all the way back to the beginning
4. Tobit ties this concept in his captivity to the fathers and says their seed shall inherit the land, which is a citation of the 5th commandment.
5. He says this is love towards your brethren, in you heart, in a literal sense, and to not do so is to despise thy brethren
6. He equates all of this as ‘lewdness and decay, a great want. the mother of famine.’

This is spelled out and profound

Now by more authoritative scripture I will show the same as Tobit here shows, just as we have already seen in resuscitation of scripture from Gen 27-29, but in a more compounded way, to further press the warnings of Hosea 5.

This is an example of God’s will on the matter of nations and peoples, a brotherhood united under God’s and his Law, a brotherhood who can see each other for who they are and loved one another faithfully.

Neh_5:1  And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews.
Neh 5:2  For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live.
Neh 5:3  Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.
Neh 5:4  There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.
Neh 5:5  Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards.
Neh 5:6  And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.

This is a Natural reaction of a spiritual nature.

It is natural that the Men of Judah (the Jews) were offended by the fact that their own people were treating them as less than brethren, yea as strangers! They said this is not brotherly love.

Why? Is it Just because hey are religiously Hebrew? No, the violation which they saw with their eyes was not religious differences, but a lack of ones brother who could be seen! (1 John 4)

The violation was to make bondsmen of brethren rather than treating them as hired servants, as the laws kinship and brotherhood, brotherly love commanded.

They said plainly:our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants and are brought unto bondage!

This is a sin not against those who worship as the men of Judah worshiped, it was a sin against one’s race, flesh and bone- this is why it was religiously odious, because it did not contain God ordained brotherly love towards ones one people in as physical of a sense as it can be understood.

1Jn_4:20  If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

By nature, we know, and it is expected that those of another people and of a different flesh will oppress and bond and rule you with rigor- it is not expected that one of your own brethren with flesh like yours and children born like yours will oppress you.

And it is expected by nature that one of your own brethren lke you with children like yours Will rule or govern you as Deut 17 states. It is commanded that you only have king rule you who fears the Lord and His Law, but that is exactly the reason he is to be faithful and obedient to the Law and to read it “That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren”.

We must realize that God’s law is the only thing that keeps brethren acting like brethren: Remember Labon? He was a brother, he said in

Gen 29:14  And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh.

Right?

But He did not fear God, Laban was not faithful in his heart but rather sought to treat Jacob like a stranger in subtility as the story goes.
To be treated like a stranger and a bonds man is naturally abhorrent to man, and to be ruled by a stranger should be just as naturally abhorrent, even to the Church of God in a particular nation- both religiously and physically.

Last week and prior I laid a case for how brothers are to help in times of adversity:
In terms of Brotherly love, we have this admonition and command to the people of God concerning their own kin, their flesh and bone- blood as we call it today, that is one’s racial brother.

Isn’t it interesting that Laban also knew the terms of this law before Moses ever wrote them down:

Gen 29:15  And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be?

Laban declared the known law of God as it is spoken of in Lev 25, ‘as a hired servant.’, ‘for wages’ though in reality he would not do so.

Lev 25:39-43  And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant: But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee…  And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family …
Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.

This is in fact a man of Faith who harkens unto the voice of God, as heard in the word of God, and that man of faith has learned from God’s mouth that he is to be united to his brotherhood and and that this is the law of brotherly love in this situation and all situuations as it pervades his life with his family.

Beyond this we also saw how God commands you to be bothered when you see your own people being oppressed by a stranger to you and your brother

Lev 25:47-54  And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family:
Lev 25:48  After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren …
his uncle, or his uncle’s son, … or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself. ……

The Law of the Land in a biblical society says:
Lev_25:53  And as a yearly hired servant your brother be with a stranger he is in debt to and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.
Lev 25:54  And the brother the home born if he be not redeemed in the years appointed, then the brother of a native land must go out in a jubilee, both he, and his children with him.
LXX
Lev 25:53  as a hireling; he shall be with him from year to year; thou shalt not oppress him with labour before thee.
Notice the difference in syntax “thou shalt not oppress him with labour before thee.”
Lev 25:53  … the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.

What is the common thread of this verse’s meaning?
Simply it is this It is thy brother, thy land, thy gate, and thy stranger, and thy sin to allow your brother to be ruled by a stranger in thy sight.

Sure it is the stranger doing the oppressing and inflicting the rigor, but you are the home born brother and you are the citizen, and you are allowing the stranger to rise up in your sight and afflict you brother in your sight, and the ruler of the brethren that allows for it, it is his sin & It is your sin to see it and say nothing and do nothing to relieve you brother and redeem him.

Here is an example or the righteous indignation of Moses in a similar mater.
And even when it is outside of your gate, land and any geography, this principle nevertheless is a natural and spiritual law felt by a people toward their own brethren:

Exo_2:10  And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.
Exo 2:11  And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.
Exo 2:12  And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
Exo 2:13  And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?
Exo 2:14  And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian?

Now if you just read a few verses down you will see that the Midianites who are descendants of Abraham as was Israel, recognized Moses as an Egyptian- that is that physically they saw little to no difference in his look as compared to an Egyptian. So it is safe to conclude that ancient Egyptians and ancient Israelites looked similar in physiognomy.
So, the indignation Moses felt toward the Egyptians was not on grounds of looks, it was on grounds of concentric brotherhood.
Moses was raised like an Egyptian, looked, dressed, spoke like an Egyptian, but he was infact a Hebrew the son of Amram his father the son of Levi the son of Jacob, Isaac, Abraham, tera and so forth until you get to Noah where Ham and Shem split off and Shem has his line and Ham has his line which produces Egypt. But concentrically Moses was bound more to the Hebrews than to the Mizraim / Egyptians because they were his people despite the fact that Moses could pass as an Egyptian baby and as an Egyptian son of Pharao.
It is a natural God given instinct in every creature, as well and more so in Adam’s sons to have a breast of kinship- brotherhood and brotherly love and to be driven to defend ones own people.

And it is unnatural, unlawful and therefore outside of the will of God to have a genetic stranger rule over thee as well as faithless stranger rule over thee, but one does not cancel the other out.
Both are wrong, one however is know by nature and common sense and the other is taught by the spirit and men of faith testing and trying and proving other men of faith.

And in the operation of a nation this is clear:
Again: Deu_17:15  Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother…

Deu 17:18  And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book …
Deu 17:19  And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
Deu 17:20  That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left:

Now lets Go back to Deut 23:1-2 and refocus on the united church and state of a nation again in this light,
As it is founded in leadership.

And before the objection is raised let me clarify that the standards of Deut 23 for church leadership in principle are represented the New Testament.
Timothy in 1Tim 3 and Titus in Tit 1 both have Elders and bishops and ministers “who rule their families well” before they can rule the church congregation ordained

1Ti_3:5  (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

1Ti 3:12  Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

Tit_1:5  For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
Tit 1:6  If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

Ordained elders were to be in every city, as Paul had appointed according to the Law of God.

Ordained Elders ruled over their own families, as is specified of the family and kindred and tribal over-seers or judges, this is the lawful sense of what a biblical bishop does.
He judges matters among his own family and those who is in covenant with in that city.
And while this is ecclesiastical in nature, the ecclesia is the judicial branch of the cities family government as it was directly related to church leadership.

What happens when strangers rule over a local and brotherly church? A violation of the law of God, by not having a brother rule. and what if a bastard is allowed to rule the church
Now let me bring to your mind those 2 concepts, yet again.

  1. You shall not have a stranger rule over thee
  2. and a brother is of thy flesh and bone.

When we consider what is meant by the congregation in our KJV or the Qa-hal or Ecclesia, the called out, the Church and that that is a governmental function of families, in cities as part of tribes and a nation. The clarity of why a mamzer, a strange born child of a mixed race not ruling makes all the more biblical sense according to the law of God.
And while to us in 21st century America and Europe and South Africa and Australia and Canada this sounds utterly wrong, I assure you that covenant churches of families in cities had as a norm to have their Elders an Over-seers of the race of the church and if a strange people came to worship, such as slaves, they were either appointed their own leadership of elders and ministers which answered to the native born Elders or they were ministerially carried for by the governing race in that church in another ecclesiastical capacity, but they did not rule over that local kindred body of Christ.
It is of a very recent happening that native born people have forfeit their patriarchal oversight in the presbyteries and Ministerial positions to those who have no vested interest in the future of that church… and look at where it has gotten us?
But my book of truth says this is what I shall look for yet again in every nation where Christ is preached and his law accepted in their hearts:

Jer 30:20  Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
Jer 30:21  And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them…

The Law says a Congregational ruler should have a vested generational interest in the pure racial posterity of his church:

Deu_23:1  He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
Deu 23:2  A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

I want to remind you that it was the people who followed the example of the ignorant and known sins of the Ecclesiastical leaders in the days of Nehamiah and Ezra who were contemporaries. When the people had mixed themselves with peoples of polluted stock, it was the Ecclesiastical princes and rulers of the congregation who lead also the repentance.

Neh_13:1-3 says it was this chapter of the law which caused
On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;
Neh 13:2  Because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.
Neh 13:3  Now it came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.

Ezr_9:1  Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
Ezr_9:2  For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.
Ezr 9:3  And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied.
Ezr 9:4  Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice.
Ezr 9:5  And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God,
Ezr 9:6  And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.
Ezr 9:7  Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
Ezr 9:8  And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.

The princes are the Ruling elders, the judges of the Congregation, they and the priests read the very last of Deut 23:

Ezr_10:1  Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.
Ezr 10:2  And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
Ezr 10:3  Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.

Miscegenation is of no small matter, it will ultimately lead to the posterity of the seed, the sprouts of the patriarchal seed intended to inherit the land to eventually become generationally dispossessed of their heritage.

And While this Law on mamzer-ism is focused upon the Ecclesiastical leaders, it is nevertheless the standard, like all the standards of leadership to be stove for by every man and woman in the Congregation of the LORD in a nation.

Listen to the wise words of Tobias to his son Tobit:

“…love thy brethren, and despise not in thy heart thy brethren, the sons and daughters of thy people, in not taking a wife of them”

That we might take head to the prophet Hosea and restore the boundaries removed by our people in our sight and by our governments in our sight and say:

“…now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.”

About JS Lowther

Foremost I know that I am a chief sinner saved by Grace. I am a servant of YHWH Almighty the one true God Who is Father, Son and Spirit. I believe in God's only begotten and perfect Son Jesu(s) Christ whose redemption power of my soul I have Faith in and testify of. Having been redeemed by the blood of Christ, I wish to no longer spend my time in the lusts of the flesh and of this world, but to promote the Gospel of the Kingdom by means of the knowledge of the New Covenant, a reNewal of the Covenant God made with his people Israel in the blood of Christ (Jer 31:31 and Heb 8:8) whereby He writes His Law upon the Heart and Mind beside the forgiveness of sin and transgressions. I believe Christ Jesus is the incarnate Son of God as the WORD made flesh, and the son of man born of the virgin Mary conceived of the Holy Spirit: I believe Christ Jesus Lived a perfect life for us as a living sacrifice as well as a pattern of the Sanctified newness of life a believer has in Him, I believe Christ Jesus died a cursed death on the Cross for His people of Covenant who are sinners, and I believe in Christ Jesus who Resurrected with power from Death from the grave to Justify the offenders. This is the same Jesus who is indeed the Son of David and king of Israel, who is both LORD and Christ over all the kings and dominions of the earth! In the fullness of time YHWH will regather his people under the Head of the Church, Jesu(s) Christ to affect his will according to the Lord's prayer, Psalm 2, 8 and 110 as well as Genesis 1:26. The focus of my administration of the Gospel is like unto my Lord's who said "I have come not but for the lost sheep of the house of Israel.."(Mathew 15:24), and so I have come to my European kinsman according to the flesh. It is my mission to show the Israel of God the Salvation which is taught by Scripture Alone and offered in all ages by Grace Alone through Faith Alone in the work of Christ Alone to the Glory of GOD Alone. As a modern day Puritan separatist it is my goal to purify the church of Christ with Faith heretofore stated. I am studying to show my self approved, if you have any questions just ask!
