Leviticus 18’s “Sexual immorality”
Our Evening Message:
Message of Liturgical Doctrine:
Pt.2 Adar’s Kindred Message:
“Kindred Redemption a National Matter”,
In this sermon and bible study message we will be considering the message of the 12th New Moon of the biblical calendar called “Adar”, especially as we consider the Message of the Book of Esther and her liturgical feast on the 2nd sabbath (15th day) of the month of Adar. Esther’s story leads us back to the Law of God inreguards to the Law of Kindred redemption or ‘gaal’. In this study we will consider: 1. Soteriological redemption, 2.the ga’al relationship of love with in the Godhead of the trinity, 3. examples of Israel’s kindred redemption relationship to God through Christ, 3. How the trinity and the dual nature of Christ encourage us in kindred redemption in our own families, kindreds, tribes, nations and race.
Our Sabbath Call to Worship, is from our Psalm 77 call, prayer, and praise from Psalm 104, Psalm 119 pt.18, Psalm 125 & Psalm 26 ; OT Reading is Numbers 22:1-8 & NT Reading John 1:35-end, Confessional from II Timothy 2:1-13 & Joint Confession of fellowship & Sin from: 1 John1-2 & Ex 20

Est 2:6 Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.
Est_2:7 And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.

Examples of gâ’al
Gen_48:13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near unto him.
Gen 48:14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
Gen 48:15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
Gen 48:16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
Here we see Jacob or Israel implying the term of kindred redemption when he says the Angel of YHWH, who is Jesus Christ pre-incarnate is Jacob’s Kinsman redeemer, and as Jacob’s son and Yet Christ as Jacob’s creator we have a beautiful mystery of revelation.
Stereologically, Jacob Israel is speaking of a family like connection which the Angel of the LORD / YHWH which he has with him who has saved from all evil.
We see however that the language of kindred redemption is juxtaposed to soteriological redemption while being kindred to it:
Isa_63:16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
Now, this is stereologically relevant because here is yet again another fact that remains concerning redemption, that is as we espouse frequently, all salvation has been procured by Jesus Christ, who is the Eternal Word of God who is God and is with God, who the Son of whom the Father says, “Thy throne O God is Forever and Ever”.
Christ redeemed Job the Edomite chief (Job_42:17 LXX)
Job_19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
Job 19:26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Job 19:27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
So, in salvation God as creating Father is for all of his creation a redeemer, and Christ of the dual nature, the Word made flesh is the kinsman redeemer for all of his brethren which he has chosen to save, and beyond according to his choice.
Heb_2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Heb 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Heb 2:12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
Heb 2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15 And deliver (redeem) them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Heb 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
Heb 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
let me show another early instance of gaal specifically where Israel is made a type of Christ as a first born son to be redeemed:
Exo_6:6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:
Exo 6:7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
Look at the prior context of the Redemption ‘gaal’, kindred redemption language.
Exo_4:22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:
Exo_4:23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.
Gaal’s / kindred redemption is ultimate example is in the trinity.
Gaal’s ultimate example is in the trinity, and especially see in the kindred love accomplished by the hypostatic union of the Father and the Son and the Spirit, the Co-equality of the kindred relationship in considering the communion of the 3 in 1 as a Family which is in Heaven, the Godhead YHWH. (Eph 3:14 -15)
Consider the communion, love and the redemption interacted with between the Father and the Son with the Spirit’s Work implied, a perfect unity of family spirit:
Joh 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
Joh 3:35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
Joh 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
…
Joh 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Joh 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Joh 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Now let us go to the Law of God and read of the mind of God as he has revealed this moral duty to man from what we have prior read of His Heavenly Eternal reality, as well as that redemption given to the seed of Abraham by Christ, as well as that redemption expressed of Israel as form and type of the true Firstborn.
When we consider the language of Esther, we see a mindset a cultural impression morally placed so deeply upon Mordechi which he pressed upon his niece Esther that the love of kindred and the privlage and requirement before God to be a kinsman redeemer was seemingly first nature.
The prevailing principle of law is a concentric principle of relations,
Lev_25:47 And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family:
Lev 25:48 After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:
Lev 25:49 Either his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.
Lev 25:47 And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family:
Lev 25:48 After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:
Lev 25:49 Either his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.
Simplified in Ruth:
Rth_3:12 And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.
Rth 3:13 Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman’s part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.
Leviticus 25:49 ‘s moral mentality is the basis of 1 Timothy 5:8 moral mentality.
Leviticus 25:49:
“One of his brothers may redeem him, or his uncle or his cousin may redeem him, or a close relative (οικειων )from his clan may redeem him. Or if he grows rich he may redeem himself.
1 Timothy 5:8
“But if anyone does not provide for his relatives (οικειων), and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”
The salvation of Judah by Esther was Mordachi’s immediate thought when he considered the situation Esther was in.
Let’s go to the first lawful use of the word gaal:
Lev_25:23 The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.
Lev 25:24 And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.
Lev_25:25 If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.
Lev 25:26 And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it;
…
Lev 25:35 And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.
Lev 25:36 Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.
Lev 25:37 Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.
Lev 25:38 I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.
Lev 25:39 And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:
Lev 25:40 But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:
Lev 25:41 And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.
Lev 25:42 For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.
Lev 25:43 Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.
Lev 25:44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.
Lev 25:45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.
Lev 25:46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.
Lev 25:50 And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him.
Lev 25:51 If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.
Lev 25:52 And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption.
Lev 25:53 And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.
Lev 25:54 And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.
Lev 25:55 For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
