Lights of Sabbath
GENESIS
2:1-3
1Pe_3:15-16 …Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Answers from a Purely Biblical World View
In order to continue on in this message it is of necessity that we impose the knowledge we have prior been given in Chapter 1 on the subject matter we have before us in Chapter 2, I will also try my best to fill in some interesting and helpful information that I had not mentioned in the past message. Also, I will indeed be examining the subject of Time once again, as I had initially thought to avoid it for brevity sake as I have offered many messages on the subject which are available, so last week when I had said I did not wish to do so I have now decided that this series should contain the Organic and Original material from which the other books in Scripture have their roots, as to offer this series as a complete work in and of it’s self, throughout the remainder of this series we will constantly be looking back and forth into the Word as to attain our standards and definitions, this is to use context of scripture, natural revelation, and word meaning. Even when we find a word in the Hebrew or Greek Scriptures we do not simply take as concordance or dictionary understanding of that word as it’s absolute meaning rather we look at how that word and it’s roots as well as it’s related words are used in a Biblical context Alone, this is where we take the General meaning of a word from the Greek or Hebrew as it is understood in a general language way but we use the Scripture as the hone to sharpen it’s biblical meaning, in this way the bible becomes the dictionary of the way YHWH uses the Word in His world view, and not the Heathen or apostate or ignorant world view devoid of Faith in the Word of God. For instance, with exception to biblically related works no information exists to a purely Hebrew way to anciently understand Biblical Hebrew as a Language, but related languages from Phoenicia, Moab and Canaanite culture which used a similar language does, the problem of course would be using the idolatrous pagan peoples world view to understand scripture would instantly begin to change the context of Scripture from the beginning, for instance El (God, Mighty One or One Judge), Baal (Master or husband ), Adon (Lord) and Moloch (King or Angel) are all words use to describe YHWH, and by a simple understanding from booth the song of Moses as well as from Romans 1 which describes how new gods came up which the people worshiped whom their fathers never knew, and those words which are attributes of YHWH ALH’im / the Lord YHWH became new god’s by a new name and new form of worship, so if we would understand the Scripture by starting the book of Genesis in this way immediately Alhim / Elohim is not defined by his revealed Word according to the Standing of His Law and validation of it’s context but by the fact that Canaan’s sons tell us that Elohim is the family of the pantheon of god’s according to their world view, this as well would happen if we used the Greek Scriptural testimony by looking into Greek mythology and literature to define the meaning of Theos or God, or the meaning Deoblos or Devil according to the Greek world view, we would have Greek mythos imposed into Scripture revered as the Word of God. So rather, it is impinging upon us to use Sola Scriptora and Tota Scriptora that is Only Scripture and the Totality of Scripture as the definitive understanding for Scripture and fro the Pentateuch to be the beginning of the definitive system of our Theology, I am not a fluent user of the Biblical languages but what I do know and have access to I will share along the way in this study, as well I will caution you that any men and women who know more Biblical Greek or Hebrew than my self will disagree with some of the points I will make (they also disagree with each other), but the difference in the system of study I am wishing to offer you is that it uses the Scripture as it’s Sole and Total rock, while many other approaches do not.
The Head of Time: In The Beginning
From the instance the one God, Al h’im, said His verbal Name YaH, LIGHT shines into the darkness, and time starts in heaven and earth- as we know it. (So for your reference, the words ‘Let there be’ is the word יהי / YHY, this is of course related to the Title Name of Alhim YH and YHWH, referencing ‘existance’, ‘that which is’ or in this case ‘let there be’ we see the same understanding of existance in God’s own description of Him self ‘I am that I am’ or ‘AHYH AShaR AHYH’.
Again in the consideration of theis section of Gen_1:1-3 we see throught the Scripture here in the creation of Light that ALHIM YHWH / He That Is God creates all things by His own name which moves the Water in it’s spoken Word, throught the creation week we see this Hebrew description of YaH as generating all things by his own Existance and Word, and the first thing made is Light. Which is what we must understand to comprehend the Sabbath as part of the arraingment of Time and days.
While all is not given about this first light God has provided enough to make a composite. In such a way it is able to be seen how that Darkness is primary in all of it’s envelopment upon that which God has not shown upon. Thereafter the spirit of God moved upon, in pursuance, the dark waters of earth and shines His light by the coming of His Word, there is light / AUR, thereafter light separates darkness an allowing is made for the distinction of those elements in name, thus Day or YuM, in reference to the word M’YuM or ‘water’ which shows the reflection of the Light at this time on Earth, and the calling of Darkness Night or Lylah, which seems to simply refer to the chaos or disorientation, twisting nature of Darkness, and perhaps more of the happening of the complete cycle of the heavenly happening.
It is due to this happening of elementary creation that the order of Evening or Arb (Arab) -a “mixing” of light into dark; and Morning or B’Qur- the In-quire, up-calling, or Nearing of the Light, may be now established.
The order of Evening and Morning is established by not only the Word of God plainly in all creation days, but in the very order of logic by which any creative power would be exerted, this beginning or Head of the Heaven and Earth, is also the Head of the age, as well as the Year, and the Month, the Week (sabbath),and the Day as we should know it as Christians.
Starting in darkness, that is in agreement with the Word’s order “And the evening and the morning were the ….day”,
(The Verses,below will show with out doubt that Israel was using evening as the time from one start/end to the next: Gen_1:5,8,13,19,23,31; 8:11; 24:11; 29:23; 30:16; Exo_12:6-8, 18; 16:8, 6,12,13; 29:39,41; 30:8; Lev_11:28, 32, 40; Lev_14:46; 15:5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 19,21,22,23,27; 17:15; 22:7; 23:5,32; Num_9:3,5,11,15; 19:7, 8, 10; 19; 28:4,8;Deu_3:11; 16:4,6;
Jos_5:10; 10:27; Jdg_19:16; 2Ch_18:34; Eze_12:4, 7; 24:18.)
The4th Day of Creation Ordained Jurisdiction
1:14-19 Looking back at the fourth day of creation, that which was established in the beginning and on the first day, must be maintained or added to the heavenly bodies called “lights”, this would at this point be for the purposes ordained: To give light upon the Earth.
Within this made Rule (Governance), the lights of heaven are given jurisdiction as Rulers over day and night as was previous the purpose of the Word of God. Other ruler-ship was created at this time which is enthroned upon the very principles transferred from the first day creation that will let them be for:
Signs(l’ Ath ‘th- ל את ת (H226) -Signal
Seasons(v’l’ Mwod’im- ול מועדים (H4150) – In modern English “Appointments” may better, As ‘season(s) in our modern day is now thought to only involve those four cardinal “seasons” of the solar cycle about the earth: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. Yet, this word throughout the KJV scriptures has been translated “feast(s)” or “Witness”, yet season in it’s truest meaning is consistently best fitting as understood by the KJV Translators.
Days(Ym’im- ול ימים (H3117)
Years(v’ Shn’im ו שׁנים (H8141)
and to give light upon the earth.
Time is thus establish for the earth from henceforth, in assent to the rule of the lights of heaven, the sun, moon and stars. While man may choose to reckon time in what soever way they feel to be fit, man is never truly able to change any of the true time keeping devices which God alone has set in motion and maintains, when the lights of heaven are ignored in the calendation of man, which are made to sign or signal the time which is to come, the calendar thus used by man will ever be in fault, perhaps not with the passage of average time, but in the recognition of the “Appointed seasons” of God, this fact will especially unfold as time is considered hereafter and bible students in the present consider in perspective.
The Lights are the Origin of the Sabbath, the Sabbath is Appointed by the Lights
Gen 1:32-34 (Gen 2:1-3) On account of the seventh day being the last day of the creation week it has therefore been placed in the first chapter of Genesis in this composition of scripture( insomuch as the delineation of chapters are ordained of man and not God, the break here in chapter is of better logic). Furthermore, the ordination of time as found in Gen 1:1-19 and entirely resting on the triune lights of heaven, the sun, moon and stars, are those which delineates Signs, Seasons, Days, and Years, and must be at the foundation also of this Seventh Day (AKA the SABBATH) and not devoid of it’s logical conclusion at this ending of the creation week.
Points to be understood about the language of the seventh day and Sabbath of God

The word translated “seventh” is the word SBIOY / שׁביעי (H7637) – It is only used in the sanctified counting of days, months, and years, and is not the common word for seven which is SaBO, as can be seen in the counting of a man’s years of Birth in the genealogy or of the numbering of a thing that is being preformed, that is SBO/ שבע / “SaBO” (H7646) which throughout the scripture is not only the same “SaBO”(H7651) as the cardinal number Seven “7”, as mentioned prior, but is also importantly used to indicate a filling, to make full, or to satisfy; and “SaBO” (H7650) to be complete, It is also importantly the word for an oath of swearing, as representing a resolve of promise to seven oneself, where certain scriptures can be seen in the Hebrew reading where the focus of an oath between people is confirmed or settled 7 times before the matter is settled.

SaBiTh / שׁבת or Sabbath is the word translated “rest” in the KJV, purely Sabbath in this composition. Sabbath indicates a level of ceasing which is intrinsically tied to a seventh of time.

The SaBIOY day IS the SaBiTh day / the seventhed day is the sabbath.

Both SaBO, SBIOY and SaBiTh are derived from the prime root שב / “SuB” which is the Essential root H7725 שב / שׁוב / SUB / SuB
This word as SUB שׁוב is first seen in:
Gen 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
The triune lights in Gen 1:-19 designate the Seventhed Day / SaBaTh
The purpose for pointing out the above numbered points is to draw attention to the important language used to define this special day in time, as the Sabbath is not referenced as the SBO (7th) day, but always the SBIOY day. In conjunction with this fact of scripture, the Seventhed day is intrinsically linked to the calendary system established by the triune lights in Gen 1:-19 which must by proxy designate the SBIOY day, insomuch as it is a day, a day which is the conclusion to the full week and a return to the first working day, and therefor the Sabbath is sanctified, set aside as holy by this dictate of God as it will be specifically called a Season or appointed time (Mwod’im) in Lev_23:1-4 indicated by the lights, and as well this seventh day of the week will be called a Sign (Ath) in Exo_31:13-17 where this Original or Organic principle is sited in reference to it’s imposition upon Adam’s Israelite Sons as being in the likeness of the God Which made them.
Remembering that the Lights of Heaven deliniate Signs and Seasons consider Psa_104:19
He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
Reconsidering the Head or Beginning aspect of Time as a Whole
Evidence as to the arrangement of time in a calendric sense is attainable in looking at, the phraseology of simple creation statements, in this case: This Head point of time found before light was called is likened unto the new moon, or dark period of the moon, the day before light was made. And as such lends it’s place as the first period of this “Beginning” or “Head” of the age, while the first day is to yet start. When considering that both the beginning of the Year as called “Rash’un h’Shnah”, and the beginning of the month as called “Rash cHodesh” as seen in Exodus 12:2, and Numbers 10:10. It is easily seen and most logical that this Rash’ith of Creation the Year and Month and Sabbath were like was at the Rash position of the Heavenly clock. So it is that when the holistic calendar taught by excepting the Organic Laws of Time as relevant only in the Lights of Heaven we reckon that in this Cosmos of our Heaven and Earth there first existed Darkness and void before YHWH God Spoke by His Spirit and Word, thereafter Light in all forms was reckoned. It is by such logic we may See the time before time as existing in darkness like the New Moon in it’s dark period, when in Heaven and Earth upon that day no Light of the Moon is available for the Earth to see from it’s vantage, and upon the Day Light is revealed Work begins as a pattern for the Son’s of God / Adam made in His Likeness to understand eternal and pattern their Work and Worship upon. It is for this reason The Lunar based Sabbath is excepted as the Genesis or Original Week of Nature and Scripture, excepted as Psa_19:1 Tells us:
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Psa 19:2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
Psa 19:3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
Psa 19:4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.
Considering the 4th commandment of the National Law of Israel (the Law of Moses)
In the way shown in Psalm 19 we understand that the creator invisible as God, regardless or the place on Earth has this testimony as seen in the Lights of Heaven is seen, in it’s unfailing working Order, as a witness to all upon the Earth, and this Sabbath of God as able to be heard by the creative word of God is also subject to it, yet only when the Gates of Israel are enlarged enough to encompass all things in Subjection to Christ, to posses the Gates of his enemies, when the 4th commandment of the National Law of Israel is Codified under the Law as the Law of Moses we read:
Exo_20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo_20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
If we notice the enactment clause of the 10 commandments is to the Ethnic People of Israel, as descended from Jacob, Isaac and Abraham, Noah and then the son of God Adam, in that enactment the ‘Thou’ is definitively the children of the fathers who were literally brought out of Egyptian bondage, and it is by those same particular people God has blessed the Earth with preserving the Word of God to teach these truths, we will dwell on this more as we get into Exodus in this examination of the Pentateuch, but if you notice “thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: “ By the specificity of this statement the converse is as well attainable that when any of these things are out of Order, the subjection and protection of the Gate of Israel, all these mentioned are out side of the Gate, thus in the sense we are seeing in Genesis we have dominion given in Gen_1:26-28 to the Family unite of Adam, male and female, who will multiply and are to subdue the Earth as inheriting this Likeness concerning the Sabbath day over the earth as we see it in the 4th commandment: His literal children, His servants, his animals and those sojourning or temporarily abiding in the Gate’s of Adam as strangers; thus regardless of our thoughts on where a specific creation fits in to this Order of Dominion given to Adam the words of Paul ring true: Rom_8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Rom 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
Rom 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
End thoughts:
I hope in the Lunar Sabbath or better said Heavenly light based Sabbath understanding this message has been helpful particularly in establishing the firm Organic and intrinsic Link between the Lights of Gen_1:1-19 with the Seventhed Day Sabbath of Gen_2:1-3 to Help give a better answer for the reason we keep Sabbath in the way that we do as dictated and determined by the Lights in the Heaven, with the Moon being created for Seasons.
