Greetings again for this special announcement of not only a new heavenly month, but also for the announcement of the end of the Agricultural year as well!
Here some pertinent scriptures from the Law of YHWH God to help order the reason and importance of agricultural observance of the coming figurative ‘Feast of Tabernacles’ as well as the realistic ‘Feast of Ingathering’ which are one and the same in date occuring in this seventh month:
Deu 16:13-14 Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine: And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.
Exo 23:16 … and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
Exo 34:22 And thou shalt observe… the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.
We have good reason to celebrate before the LORD at this time of the year in our northern hemisphere, because it is truly at this time we have as a whole gathered in the blessings the LORD has given us from the field and of the fruits of the earth as the agricultural year truly ends.
A common problem in understanding the biblical festivals is often knowing the reality before their observance and the meaning behind their observance, this is in knowing that this is remembrance of how the Lord caused Israel to dwell in Tabernacles or Booths (Sukkoth) as well as a remembrance of who gives Israel the harvest they enjoy to get them through the winter to come.
Like our Puritan father that settles North America, ReNewed Covenant Ministry Endorces a call to Thanks-giving at this Ingathering and Tabernacle Season, Not by the dictates of men or by man’s calendar but by the biblical paradigm provided in Scripture, wherein we can remember our Israelite forefather exodus from bondage, our Puritan forefathers exodus from religious persecutions by Giving Thanks to the LORD of the Harvest… for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever! Psalms 118
