Why We Keep the Feasts
Part 9
Created unto Good Works
(This will be the final message on Why We Keep the Feasts!?)
Eph_1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who Trust, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Very much so this is by biblically defining the meaning of these things Paul is speaking of through a biblical context of what we had seen in Colossians 1 and 2: The wisdom and knowledge, the understanding and enlightenment which reveals the hope His Calling unto us, that is a reference to the calling of the church, a hope we have as the church as the those who are receiving riches of glory of His Christ’s inheritance in the saints, the people of God’s sanctification, this is the inheritance promised to Abraham and the Fathers, the inheritance of the greatness in Christ which he gives to his saints that are in him, a power which has no limitations in time, but from the time of Christ’s resurrection and ascension according to Daniels prophecy in Dan_7:13-14 was finished, Christ the son of man approaches the ancient of days and receives all authority and power, and he was numbered as Head of the Church, first in rank over this thing called the Church the Ecclesia. The redeemed of the Nations of Abraham according to hope of the calling as part of that promise of inheritance of Abram to be a Great Nation, a Nation defined as Great by God’s Law (Deu_4:6), by these very things we read hear as it references the elements of enlightenment found in Christ our all in all. Again, the Church by biblical definition is a called assembly called to worship, and worship called according to the WORD of YHWH. Those times of Worship as dictated not by man but by God, and while must apply the law to his life and assembly time by understanding when that is to happen, Scripture is the lone authority of when those holy convocation are to convene. The Church of the First born is bound to the Law of God for all of its wisdom, knowledge, understanding, enlightenment and hope! The Church of Christ’s calling is called from death to life, to resurrect and revive with Christ, a particular people zealous of good works before ordained that they are created in Christ to walk in, renewed and alive, quickened according to His Word!
Eph_2:1 And you who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,
This is who we were brothers, walking not in the ways and paths of God but walking as dead in sin, ready to die like all else in the world, the principality of the world is sin unto death it is natural to die, it is natural to be flesh, it is natural to be a child of disobedience, a child of wrath, but YHWH GOD’s mercy and love, offers us life again, he makes us alive even though we of our selves have no strength, we are dead, worthless sinners… (by grace ye are saved;)
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Called to be His Church of calling, He chose us who are wicked sinners of the Gentiles, Abraham’s fallen Children of promise, called to be a blessing to all the families of the earth, an inheritance of promise that can not be disannulled or added to.
Eph_2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Eph 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
This exactly what is said in the Law called by Paul the WORD of Faith in Rom_10:1 says:
Deu_30:3 That then the LORD thy God will … gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.
Deu 30:4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:
Deu 30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
This is describing:
Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ…
Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
The Call to being Citizens of the Commonwealth of Israel, not strangers, not foreigners, but brethren of the household, joint heirs infact with Christ, redeemed kinsmen, not to serve as bonds men but to be hired servants of Christ ready to do our Lord’s bidding, to build him a house a holy temple full of YHWH’s worship according to Christ’s word.
It is all connected, it is all part of one message called the Gospel, the good news or accurate message I prefer, and this Gospel being proclaimed upon the mountains is that YHWH Reigns, that the only message, that HE reigns and he has glorified his Word, his right arm and it is not returning void, but rather it returns all and in all.
This is a call back to the commonwealth of Israel is not a symbolic name, understanding Paul by scripture shows it was he plan of GOD in Christ all along, to reconcile a remnant of his Nation of covenant as a people of promise. To resurrect a dead an fallen people by the spirit of his Word, by the breath of his mouth. The Commonwealth of Israel is a seamless Church state, no and, it doesn’t exist. It’s a call to being a cultural people, a cultural people whose Patriarchs are men of Grace through Faith, understanding that if we as fathers, as the Zekur, that is the rememberers of the families, the leaders of the tribes do not place this biblical truth as paramount in our theology of how we understand God’s Law in cultural application it will, like pagan worship always return us back to bondage to sin, self righteousness which can never justify, all of our sacramentology has to prefaced with For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. And it is the wise Patriarch that will ardently enforce this standard, this standard of Scriptural application which recognizes the future Patriarchs as having this same quality capable of keeping the Church in unity as they walk as the Church.
Grace because we recognize that salvation in all regards is a gift, through Faith because we Believe, we Trust in the WORD of GOD as absolute truth and authority, this is accounted as Righteousness before God because Justice and right standing cannot be satisfied with anything we do, not of our works, but only as the grace of God. We need a Patriarchy capable of identifying those qualities as to check against the perversion of the Gospel found in the one body, one Spirit, one hope of calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God into qualifications and items of dead works done of our self and not recognized as the gifts of God.
We always think we’ve found the safe guard against bondage again to sin by a rigorous observation, but it do not rigorously observe Grace through Faith we can even convert these holy aspects of the Christian reality into sacralige as we find in most denominations of Christians all over the world, in every church group, when you focus on that one thing you proverbially ‘loose the forest for the tree’, and sadly even Grace through Faith, when not biblically defined become that tree as well. The WORD of Faith must be our sword and shield to defend the true Faith as delivered unto the saint: it is not in vain Jude says in Jud_1:3-5 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
Let us pray this is not the fate of the Church yet again, that after saved from bondage we are destroyed for a lack of true faith in the Word and Promises of God unto obedience.
For those who have been listening who keep the feasts and for those who may have decided to start keeping YHWH’s feasts or perhaps starting to just look into understand how they are kept and what they mean. Regardless of where we are in our Christian walk there is always time to improve our obedience, understand better and more, one of the benefits of keeping the feasts is that because they are Part of YHWH’s council we will always learn from observing them and studying them, living the festivals out will aid in our knowledge of the things of GOD.
We often times as Christians cannot comprehend why our children abandon the Way, or become not so interested as Father and Mother, and it is often times because our Identification as Biblical Israel is not cultural, we do not pass it on to our children, our Lawful adoration often times becomes focused upon isolated portions of GOD’s Law such as Baptism, thinking if our Children become 20 years old and get baptized we’ve got them into the kingdom, while in reality the Grace through Faith which causes Baptism to be for the remission of sin’s is lacking. A person who has no recognition of how that total dependence upon WORD of GOD called Faith works through Love has no place in the water of Baptism except for the literal physical washing of the filth of the flesh, but it will not give an answer of a clean conscience towards God. And this is the case with Sabbath keeping and feast keeping as well, if the Assembly of worship is not worshiping with the preceding Faith is only an physical observation, you’ve satisfied the attendance in a cultural contexts but your Spiritual observance is lacking by not having the Grace through Faith element needed for your creation unto good works.
And so as we consider this call back to being the church of Scripture it is a reforming and repenting as the Israel of GOD, moving beyond the great teachings of men greater in knowledge and renown than certainly myself, we stand in the wake of scholars and geniuses of Scripture who do not agree with us, those who had hundreds of years ago unearthed the fragments of Biblical truths such as sola Scriptura and sola Gractia, and Sola fide; men like John Calvin, Martin Luther and the like, Reformers of whom I am grateful as they challenged the dictates of the Catholic church with all of it’s pomp and might and empire with those Scriptural truths laid as a foundation to move beyond our forbearers beyond the bondage of sins dominion and with that thought of renewal and repentance which comes by Grace: let us consider a prayer which once came from King Hezekiah of Judah concerning the feasts observance and YHWH’s Grace through Faith which was granted at a time of reformation as we stand this day, Judah was in need of a feastival reform as well, and some of Israel who was part of Jeroboam’s apostasy as well.
2Ch 30:5 So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the Passover unto the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.
2Ch 30:6 So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
2Ch 30:7 And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
2Ch 30:8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
2Ch 30:9 For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
2Ch 30:10 So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulon: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.
2Ch 30:11 Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulon humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.
….
2Ch 30:18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one
2Ch 30:19 That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.
2Ch 30:20 And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.
YHWH is Gracious and YHWH is merciful, if he was merciful at this time before the blood of His only beloved son was given, how much more do you believe he is gracious and merciful now?
Psa_51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psa 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Psa 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
And the feasts are our culture, they are our heritage and they are the sacral system we should live by and hand down to our Children, able to make us wise unto salvation but not able to save.
Eph 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Rom 7:22 …delight in the law of God after the inward man:
2Co 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
2Co 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
Let this be our desire as Christ’s Church, as YHWH’s People who have inherited the promises through Christ where in we stand!
The Feasts are cultural:
I am not British, you are not German, you are not Irish or Scotch or French, Scandinavian or Italian or Polish or Russian! you are Israelite’s under the New Covenant: You are Christians to be the Church, you are not primarily a citizen of the USA, not of any other respective country for those listening from Europe, Australia, S. Africa and Canada, you are Citizens of the Commonwealth of Israel and Joint heirs with Christ!
Again the feasts are our cultural festivals; they are part of our good works, before ordained that we should walk in them!
